A tower arises of crystal and fish smoke,
and Chinese eyes glimmer dimly back upon my crusted face.
I drink afternoon jellyfish cider, and smoke Russian jalapenos,
each with an insignia that reads “Here lies Castro’s bones”.
I speak in tongues in Parisian cafes that smell of dank prison cells and rural revolution, of gunpowder and satin gloves.
I weave crystals between my brows so that I may appear as a king
to the paupers. I hunt with the dogs, and am the alpha of the pack.
I am also the omega. I am the first and the last, the rich and the poor. I am the revolutionary, I am the peace-maker.
I spit violently upon the pews; I am sitting in them.
I am the Beginning. I am,
